Pastor Maldonado will take a 10-place grid penalty at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix for exceeding his engine quota per season.
Drivers are only allowed to use eight new engines per year, but the Venezuelan's Williams FW33 will be fitted with his ninth power unit of 2011 at the Yas Marina Circuit as the one he used in India was damaged when his gearbox failed.
Mark Gillan, Williams' chief operations engineer, confirmed that both Maldonado and Barrichello will use new engines in Abu Dhabi.
"We need to ensure we have a trouble free weekend and then it is possible that we can make it into Q3, although as Pastor will use a ninth engine in Abu Dhabi, due to damage incurred following the gearbox failure in India, he will therefore incur a subsequent 10-place grid penalty. Rubens will use a new eighth engine," he said.
