Mercedes put their 2012 car, the W03, through its paces at Silverstone on Thursday as the team conducted a private shakedown.
While their main rivals were all in action at Jerez with their new cars, Mercedes decided to use their W02 for the first of the three pre-season tests.
The new car, though, will be in action at the second outing, which takes next week at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona.
And in order to be best prepared for the car's public debut, the team put the W03 through a shakedown on Thursday with both Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher putting in a few laps.
"We're happy to report that our new car, the F1 W03, completed its first 100 kms during a filming day," Mercedes wrote on Twitter.
"Nico and Michael completed 50km each at Silverstone, with Nico taking the W03 out for its first lap at 10.24am (precisely)."
