Vettel: No secret to pole position record

Sebastian Vettel insists there is no mystery to his qualifying success, no tenths he can pull out of his top pocket, it's just about laying it all on the line.

Vettel claimed his record-breaking 15th pole position of this season in Brazil on Saturday.

The German clocked a 1:11.918 around the Interlagos circuit to edge his nearest rival and team-mate Mark Webber by 0.181s.

"Yeah, it's difficult," he said when asked to describe how he is feeling.

"I mean there had been quite some talk before qualifying before this weekend about this particular record. But the best thing was not to talk about it all.

"We did have a rough start to the weekend where I was not 100% happy with the balance. But we made changes and I was happy.

"I knew there was more to come and put everything into this last lap. I was very emotional when I crossed the line because I knew this was all I had, I gave it my all.

"And then I had to wait. My engineer told me Button was P2, then Mark P2 so I got pole position.

"It's very historical and very special to me and I'm just happy to be here and start from the front tomorrow and hopefully enjoy the race.

"The weather will be a big question, this place is a bit tricky especialy during the race with the weather."

Pressed as to what the 'secret' to his qualifying success is, Vettel insisted: "There is no secret.

"It's not that easy to put everything into one lap and sometimes you are not so happy and other times you are very happy. Generally this year, most of the time, I was able to put everything into the final lap.

"All in all, I've been pretty happy with my days on Saturdays."

As for breaking Mansell's record, which was set back in 1992, Vettel said: "It's really special. It's different than other poles.

"Obviously it took that master Nigel Mansell a couple of races less to do it but it is still very special to me."
