Sebastian Vettel says he's confident and comfortable after claiming pole position for Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix.
The German suffered his worst race of the Championship last time out at the Nurburgring, qualifying down in third place, the first time this season he had been off the front row of the grid.
Added to that, his Sunday afternoon was not the greatest as he made several mistakes and only managed to finish in fourth place thanks to his pit crew being quicker than Ferrari at changing tyres.
And it appeared as if his woes would continue this weekend in Hungary when Red Bull found themselves off the pace in Friday's practice.
However, the Red Bull mechanics pulled an all-nighter, using one of the four curfew exemptions, and Vettel was back at the front on Saturday.
Claiming the P1 slot in final practice, Vettel went on to post a 1:19.815 in qualifying, putting him in pole position by 0.163s up on McLaren's Lewis Hamilton.
"I think it was a very good session for us," said the reigning World Champion.
"Yesterday I think these boys (Hamilton and Button) were a little bit quicker than us, it seems we have done the right thing and I am a lot more comfortable this morning.
"We changed a lot on the car overnight. The boys were working pretty hard and the boys didn't get much sleep but a result like this today is the best way to say thanks.
"I have the confidence back and I am feeling comfortable in the car. I am looking forward to tomorrow."
As for Red Bull's decision to work beyond curfew, Vettel says they did the right thing, adding that he was much happier with his RB7 after his mechanics' hard work.
"I think they got back to the hotel around 5am.
"Straightaway I noticed the difference and was happier. If you are happier it is usually because car is better, and if you are confident you are also able to get more out of yourself.
"So I think that is a good sign and very important for tomorrow's race. If you struggle with the balance of the car here or there, you reach a certain edge and you try to work on the car, which we did and we improved it. But finally overnight we released the note and it was much better today."
