Rubens Barrichello admits it's a big relief to have ended Williams' points drought during the Monaco Grand Prix.
The Grove team endured a disastrous start to the season as they failed to get a car to the finish line in the first two races of the campaign. Although they improved after that, Barrichello and Pastor Maldonado failed to score points in the next three races.
However, their luck finally changed around the streets of Monte Carlo when Barrichello came from 11th on the grid to finish ninth.
"I'm happy that I've broken my run of bad luck though," the Brazilian said. "The safety car didn't help us as our one-stop strategy would have worked well had I not just done my pitstop before it was deployed. There are positives and negatives to take from today, the positive being we scored some points."
Barrichello was running in 10th place when his team-mate Maldonado - who was sixth at the time - had his race ruined when Lewis Hamilton tried to overtake him.
"With six laps to go, I thought tenth was the best result we were going to achieve today," Barrichello added. "I ended up ninth, but not in the way I would have liked to as it was at the expense of my team-mate. We lost some really good points for the team so that is disappointing."
Williams technical director Sam Michael admits it was disappointing not to have both cars in the top 10 after a superb drive from Maldonado.
"It was a good result to get some points on the board," Michael said. "It was close to being a lot more but that is the nature of Monte Carlo. Pastor has driven outstandingly all weekend, so it is a shame that his race ended in the barriers."
